Aviel Rubin

Rubin is a professor of computer science at Hopkins and technical director of the JHU Information Security Institute. His primary research area is computer security, especially for electronic medical records. He also founded Harbor Labs, a company that provides technical expertise and testimony in high tech litigation. Before coming to Hopkins, he worked in the Secure Systems Research Department at AT & T Labs- Research in the area of cryptography, network security Web security and secure Internet services. Prior to that, he worked at Bellcore in applied research. He earned his bachelor’s (’89), master’s (’91) and doctorate (’94) in computer science at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
